Eleanor Roane

ELEANOR WELTON ROANE, 75, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in Collierville, TN. She was born in Hobgood, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents Rufus and Geneva Welton, one son, William Roane, Jr., and eight siblings, Rufus Welton Jr., Juanita Pippen, Melvin Welton, Alma Atkinson, Muriel York, Elton, Welton, Byrd Welton, and Gayle Welton, She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, William Roane Sr., one daughter, Suzanne Stewart, and two grandchildren, Wyatt and Cole Stewart. Eleanor was an avid reader, flower designer, and master gardener. She was also a member of the American Iris Society and The Day Lily Society. Memorial Services will be Saturday, January 12 at 12 p.m. at Collierville Funeral Home, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society .
