Elizabeth C. Shapiro

Elizabeth Cecelia Shapiro, homemaker, loving wife and mother, passed away April 30, 2013. She was born to Charles and Anna Batchelor on July 10, 1933 in Queens, NY. On July 9, 1950 she married Malcolm L. Shapiro at Atonement Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked for many years at Selchow and Righter, a board game manufacturer in Long Island, NY. Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, and travel. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Central Islip, NY and and after moving to Memphis in 1988 she became a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Malcolm, and three sons, Allen, Leon (Charlene) and Dale (Gina), her brother, Charles Batchelor, grandchildren, Cecelia, Richard, Victoria, Roy, Robert, Jennifer and Phillip, great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kimberly, Richard,Jr., Cameron and Rebecca. The family will receive friends Friday, May 3, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Collierville Funeral Home with the funeral service 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at 11:30 a.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 7630 Davidson Rd., Olive Branch, MS. with burial Tuesday at 11 a.m. at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery
