Eunice Laverne Gilmer

Eunice Laverne Gilmer, 97, of Collierville, TN went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2026. Laverne was born on January 14, 1929, in Collierville, TN to the late Asa and Ressie Wilson. She graduated from Collierville High School in 194? She has lived in Collierville her entire life. She worked for Walmart in Collierville for 35 years. She lived a very active life and was always on the go. Some of her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, cross stitching, and needle point. She also had a love for plants. One of her greatest joys in life was her family and being “Mawmaw” to her grandchildren. Laverne was a believer in Jesus Christ and has been a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Collierville where she was baptized in 4th grade. Her faith in Jesus was the central part of her life and was known to be a prayer warrior. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Gilmer, Sr.; sister, Jean Dunn; and brother, Barry Wilson. She is survived by her son, Al Gilmer; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Asa Wilson, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
