Fayne Powell Parker, age 97, of Collierville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023. Born on September 17, 1925 in Palmersville, TN to the late James and Lillyan Parker, Fayne graduated from Dresden High School and immediately volunteered in the US Navy. He served aboard the USS Radford as an Electricians Mate in the Philippines during World War II. In 1946, Mr. Parker completed his military service and moved to Memphis. In 1948, he met the love of his life, Inez Burton, and they were married six weeks later. Together, they would build an amazing life for the next 75 years. Fayne retired from Witco Chemical after 45 years, and during retirement he enjoyed spending special time with his family, traveling, woodworking and church work. They were members of Eudora Baptist Church for more than 45 years, and for the past 27 years they have been active members of Collierville First Baptist Church. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his son, Larry Burton Parker; and his parents. Fayne is survived by his devoted wife, Inez; his loving daughter, Janice Baumgardner and her husband Rodney; his loving daughter-in-law, Vicky Parker; six grandchildren, James, Erin, Jonathan, Jeremy, Keri, and Kortney; and eleven great grandchildren. The family will gather to receive friends on Friday, July 28th, at 1:00 p.m., and the Celebration of Fayne's life will begin at 2:00 p.m., at Collierville First Baptist Church, 830 New Byhalia Road, Collierville, TN 38017. Interment will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial remembrances in honor of Mr. Parker may be made to Collierville First Baptist, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or a charity of the donor's choice.
