Fredalene “Freddie” M. Wellons, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice in Collierville, TN. She was born on April 19, 1934, to the late Fretz and Gertrude Mullins in Alcorn County, MS. Freddie was a proud graduate of Humes High School, Class of 1953, where she shared a homeroom with Elvis Presley. She had a deep love for animals and never missed an opportunity to feed and care for them. Freddie also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and surrounding herself with beautiful flowers. One of her favorite traditions was the annual beach trip she took with her family, which she looked forward to every year. Freddie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wellons; her parents, Fretz and Gertrude Mullins, and her sister, Geri Mullins. She is survived by her three children, Jessica Williams (David), Amanda Gurney (John), David Wellons, and her brother, John Mullins. Freddie also leaves behind four grandchildren: Ethan Williams (Meghan), Grace Williams, Matthew Gurney (Emma), Kate Gurney, and three great-grandchildren, Peyton Williams, Mason Williams, and Brooks Gurney. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Rd. Collierville, TN 38017. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville, TN.
