Funeral Service will be held on May 22, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 West Poplar, Collierville, TN. with a graveside service to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery South, 2545 E. Holmes Rd. Memphis, TN.
Gerald was born on July 8th, 1949 in Gulfport, MS to Olen White & Erma Juanita Pearson. He graduated from Westwood High School in Memphis, TN in 1967 and soon began his career at Memphis Fire Department in 1970 where he retired as Lt in 1995. In 1996 he joined Panola County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy and retired in 2014 as a Lt and Fire Investigator.
Always active, he volunteered with The Shriners Foundation where he was Past Master of Panola Lodge #66 and a Wahabi Shriner. He enjoyed woodcarving, working with leather, riding motorcycles and always enjoyed being in the company of friends and family. He had a fun-loving spirit and if you met him, you remembered him. We will all cherish the memories of his smile and infectious laughter.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Olen White, stepmother, Opal White, stepfather, Burl Stembridge, son, Travis Wade White and beloved wife, Donna S. White.
Gerald is survived by his Mother, Nita Stembridge. his children Angie White (Chuck) Gerald Wayne White Jr. (Dori), John T. White (Rhonda) Jennifer Lawhorn (Scott), Michael Penna (MarthaAnne). Gerald also leaves behind several grandchildren, Courtney White, Brandon Lonkar, Blake Allen, Dylan White, Faith White, Makaylin White, Beckett White, Peyton Carter, Garrett Penna (Matalyn), Hanna Lawhorn, Olivia Lawhorn, Brenna Anderson, Ian Anderson, Savannah Jordan, Branson Jordan, and one great grandchild Lennox Carter.
He also leaves behind siblings Wanda Beard (Ronnie), Jerry Cole (Rosa), Max Cole and several cousins, nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly.
