Born in Newcomb, TN to William Rutherford and Mary Weaver, Helen was one of ten siblings.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Guy Hendricks and Charles James. She is succeeded by her daughters Dorothy Louise Hendricks Stewart (Robert) and Deborah Leigh James Sexton; her grandchildren Kelli Stewart Demarest (Chuck), Shannon Kay Stewart, Bryan Christopher Sexton (Melissa) and Christina Marie Sexton and great grandchildren Whitney Lynn Demarest Bray, Camryn Paige Demarest, and Charles Aydan Sexton and Annabel Louise Sexton. Helen retired from Firestone Tire Company in 1982 after 38 years of service and continued to volunteer in her community. She will be remembered as fiercely loyal, loving and generous--the first responder to a friend in need, an inexhaustible worker, a caregiver and cake baker, with a heart big enough to hold everyone’s concerns. Above all, she was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Family was the most important thing to her.
She passed peacefully Tuesday morning, joining members of her family, many dear friends and fellow champion bowlers.
There will be a celebration of life December 9 at 2pm the Collierville Funeral Home: 534 W Poplar Ave, Collierville, TN 38017. There is a visitation from 1pm - 2pm. Her interment will take place the following day at Memphis Memory Gardens.
Memorial donations can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
