Hollis "Andy" Dwain Anderson

Hollis Dwain “Andy” Anderson, 89, of Franklin, TN passed away on August 26, 2026. Andy was born on February 13, 1937, in DeFuniak Springs, FL to the late Burvy Anderson and Dorothy Lemmerman. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Memphis State University where he was involved in ROTC and a member of KA fraternity. He served our country as a Major in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War where he was a meteorologist and radar navigator on B-52s. Following his military service, Andy went to work as a stockbroker and eventually became a manager for Merrill Lynch. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and doing genealogy research. One of his greatest joys in life was being “Grandpa” and “Papa” to his grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Anderson; stepfather, Leo Lemmerman; and his brother, Delwin Anderson. Andy is survived by his son, Kevin Anderson; daughter, Kjersten Branscome (Dexter); daughter, Trisha Ratliff (Rod); and grandchildren: Indigo Anderson-Moore, Cassidy Branscome, Trinity Branscome, Gage Branscome, Christina Brunt, Jake Ratliff, and Cailyn Ratliff. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Franklin, TN at a later date.
