Yesterday's funeral for Lisa's husband, James "Jim" Beliew was truly amazing! What an awesome husband, father, son, brother, co-worker, friend and example for living a Christ-like life! It was obvious that he touched so many lives! The outpouring of love and respect for this man was overwhelming! I'm positive that the first words he heard, as he entered heaven, were "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." As several people spoke, and still dealing with my own grief, I took away many blessings. I wanted to share this verse for anyone else who needs it: The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit-Psalm 34:18🙏

Lisa, Aaron, Nathan, and Marsha—Michael and I are saddened and were unprepared to learn of Jim's death. Know that we are praying for you—for peace, understanding, patience, comfort, and even joy. I have a memory of something Jim told me when Amy was in the hospital following her accident, and I will never forget what he said. We were leaving the hospital waiting room, and I said to Jim, "I hope Amy will be all right." Jim said, "Oh, Amy will be all right. However this turns out, she is going to be all right." I was overwhelmed by his faith and hope and confidence in what had to be the most difficult situation of his life. I have told many people this story, and I believe that through it Jim ministered to people whom he had never met. Now Jim is also all right—more than all right, because he is in the arms of his Savior, where he had spent his whole life preparing to be. While we rejoice for him, we ache for you and pray that God will comfort you with good memories and the love of your many family and friends. We love you.
