

James Wilson McClinton, Jr., 99, of Collierville, TN went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2025. Mr. McClinton was born on October 17, 1925, in Jefferson Co., AL to the late James Wilson McClinton, Sr. and Eva Hollowell McClinton. He served our country in the United States Navy during WWII and was stationed in Pensacola, FL. After his military service, he worked as a district salesman for United States Steel Corporation until his retirement after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriner’s. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play. Mr. McClinton was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Lincoya Hills Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years and taught an adult Sunday School class until he was 96 years old. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita McClinton granddaughter, Ashley McClinton Tucker; sister, Alberta McClinton; sister, Mildred Kennedy; and brother, Rush McClinton. He is survived by his daughter, Marsha McClinton; daughter, Becky Suggs (Mike); grandchildren, Kimberly Tucker Newbern (Geoff) and William James Suggs (Rebekah); great-grandchildren, James Tucker Hopper and Margaret Grace Newbern; sister-in-law, Gwen McClinton; brother-in-law, Herman Oswell; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. McClinton will be buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bessemer, AL with his family.
