James Donald "Jamie" Sanford, 82, of Collierville, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov 17, 2018, after a brief illness. Jamie was born December 26, 1935 to John Lawson and Elizabeth Brooks Sanford in Jackson, TN. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1953 and served in the Tennessee Army National Guard for nine years. He married Connie May in 1960 and began his career working for Ellis Bagwell Drug Company in Memphis. He accepted a sales position with Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals in 1965 in Macon, GA and relocated to Memphis in 1968. He attended Collierville First Baptist Church. Jamie is preceded in death by his three siblings, Joe Hiram Sanford, Elina Georgia Sanford, and his twin Julian Ronald Sanford, and also by his son John David Sanford. He is survived by Connie, his wife of 58 years, and by his son, Donald Keith Sanford, MD, of San Antonio, TX, and his daughter Karen Sanford Cook (Jon), and grandchildren Jacob Logan Cook and Beck Sage Cook, of Spring Grove, IL. Visitation will be held Wednesday November 21, 2018 from 10am until the funeral service begins at 11am, all at Collierville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett, TN 38133.
