James Cecil Simmons, Sr.

James Cecil Simmons Sr., age 89, of Collierville, Tennessee passed away on Monday August 19, 2019 in Germantown, TN. James was born October 20, 1929 in Calhoun City, MS to the late Lou A. and Essie Aldridge Simmons. Mr. Simmons served our country in the United States Air Force where he received the rank of Staff Sargent and was a Independent Insurance Agent. He married the love of his life; Sally Jo Abraham on December 20, 1953. Sally preceded him in death on June 14, 2008.

Mr. Simmons is survived by two daughters; Cindy Simmons Rupiper (Brian), Sally Simmons Vance, a son; James "Jim" Cecil Simmons, Jr. (Laurie), five grandchildren; Lila Simmons, Marshall Simmons, Parker Simmons, Hillary Walker, Olivia Vance, and three great grandchildren; Braelyn Walker, Coen Walker and Blake Simmons. Along with his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his beloved grandson; Andrew Taylor Simmons.
