JL was a light in the lives of all who knew him. He was an inexhaustibly considerate, exceedingly generous, and unwaveringly funny person who will forever be missed. He was a loving and supportive husband, a caring and encouraging uncle, and an amazing friend. JL lived by his convictions, and modeled the values we all strive to embody.
JL loved making people laugh with his impeccable sense of humor and bringing joy to those he loved with thoughtful gifts. He enjoyed cooking, gaming, books on tape, and had an insatiable desire for knowledge due to his innate intelligence and curiosity.
JL had a personality and outlook so unique and special that his absence leaves a hole in this world, making it less interesting and a lot less fun.
JL is survived by wife Micki, nieces Liz and Nikki, nephew Damian, grand nephews Anthony and Eddy, and grand niece Emmi.
JL was the son of Edith Stokes and Jerry Byrd, brother of Betty Bennett, and best friend of Aaron Young, Josh Wolfe, and Eric McCane.
We will gather together at Collierville Funeral Home on February 15th at 2:00 p.m. to honor his memory and celebrate his life together. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. All whose life JL touched are invited to attend and speak if they wish.
