Joe Lee Harris, 73, of Collierville, TN passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Mr. Harris was born on November 22, 1948 in Spokane, WA to the late Harry and Marlys Harris. He attended the University of Wyoming where he played baseball and went to play in the minor leagues for the LA Dodgers. He served our country in the US Army. After his Army service, he worked in retail sales and later began his career with BPI as a floor covering salesman. He retired after 38 years. Mr. Harris was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and watching baseball. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kerri Harris. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jacki Harris; son, Nick Harris (Sara); daughter, Cody Ray (Tommy); grandchildren Layne and Paisley Jo Ray; and sisters, Cyndi Batchelder (Roger) and Cherri Evans (Brett). Mr. Harris was an amazing and loving husband, father, and grandfather. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Collierville Funeral Home on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 2-3 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Vanderbilt Hospital Medical Research.
