Joe “Joey” A. Taylor III, 17, passed away December 4, 2018. He was born on September 14, 2001, in Jonesboro, AR. He was a junior at Houston High School in Germantown, TN. A loving son and friend, Joey enjoyed spending time with friends, video games, participating in theater, and classic cars. Joey worked at Kroger in Germantown, where he was a hard worker who could be seen pushing carts, bagging groceries, interacting with customers and his fellow employees. Because of his long, red hair and tall build, Joey always stood out in the crowd and made a positive impression on so many people. He loved his Jeep, and could often be seen in one of his favorite flannel shirts while wearing a pair of boots from his large boot collection.

Joey was the only child of Emily Berry Hall and his step-father Michael Hall with whom he was very close. He is survived by one uncle: Greg Berry of Memphis, TN and one aunt Tamra Chavis (Randy), of Jonesboro, AR; half-brother and sister Hayden and Kylie Taylor of Jonesboro, AR; and a very special great-aunt Marilyn Blackburn of Jonesboro, AR.

Joey was preceded in death by his father, Joe A. Taylor, Jr; paternal grandparents Joe and Joyce A. Taylor, Sr.; maternal grandparents Allen and Catherine Berry.

Collierville Funeral Home has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery in Harrisburg, AR.

Joey was a very sweet and friendly boy. My husband and I saw him at Kroger and he was so courteous and upbeat. Our hearts are so heavy and we hope God will give you all His comfort and peace.

My Son Aiden worked with Joey at Kroger and had nothing but good things to say. He mentioned he was always nice to the customers and very conversational. Aiden mentioned that they always had interesting discussions and that he will miss that. As a side note, I am a parent of two boys and cant imagine the pain of your loss. From our family to yours, our condolences.

And if this was even partially due to bullying at Houston High School may the kids who spent their time and energy in such a negative way to hurt Joey, use it now to reflect and to realize the impact they can have on each other. And if they have any dignity a response to the family in private of remorse. I did not personally know Joey but I apologize on behalf of anyone that may have caused him pain.
