Billy was the son of Junius William Coon, Sr. and Annie Laverna Batts Coon. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Maxine Coon, his son William Ashley Coon, and his daughter Jessica Ann Coon. Billy was a loving and loyal father, husband, and friend to everyone.
Billy loved to fly. In fact, he was a fighter pilot instructor for the Navy, where he bravely served in the Vietnam War. After which, he became a Federal Express captain (one of the first) and flew for them for 37 years.
During his free time, Billy enjoyed watching any and all sports, especially golf and football. He also enjoyed playing golf and exercising. He was a loyal friend and companion and was always there, offering his love and support to any whom needed it.
Billy really shined as a father and husband, where his unconditional love was paramount and evident in everything he did for his family. He will be forever loved and missed, and we thank him for his kindness, patience, wisdom, and love.
Visitation will be held on July 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 West Poplar, Collierville, TN. Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on July 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN.
