A Celebration of Life will be held at the Memphis Botanic Garden on Friday, March 7th, 2025, from 1-5 PM.
Kathleen was born in Covington, TN on August 20, 1950, to Mr. Larry S. Fortner, Sr., and Mrs. Willie Mae Parr Fortner. She graduated from Byers Hall High School in 1968, and moved to Memphis to start nursing school. She graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. Shortly thereafter, she met her husband of 50 years, Dr. Winston Craig Clark. Kathleen continued to work as a registered nurse, advancing through management and supervisory positions at multiple hospitals in both the Memphis and Nashville metro areas, while Craig went on to complete medical school and Neurosurgery residency. She retired from nursing in 1988, when daughter Caitlin was born. Son Christopher followed in 1991. Kathleen and Craig also raised their niece, Tiffany, from age 10. Kathleen was a beloved wife and mother, and loved by all who knew her.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Larry S. Fortner, Sr., and Willie Mae Parr Fortner; and her brother, Larry S. Fortner, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. W. Craig Clark; and her children, Dr. Caitlin Clark, Dr. Christopher Clark, and Miss Tiffany Clark.
