RIP Rowdy!

Rowdy Rebel was a superhero. He was brave for us when we were down and brave for himself. He always was so generous in spirit  and thoughtful. Facebook has millions of people on it and it still will be empty without his encouraging word. I am glad that he called me friend and I will miss him.
When I was down, he sent me an action figure I could not find. May his spirit always be close.

Kem was my brother-in-law and has been in our family for a very long time. He had an old soul and was a great man, he was the keeper of all our old family photos and would always surprise me with one either by sending it to me on Facebook or by giving me one that was special as a gift . He was kind, generous and had a loving heart . He loved his wife and 2 daughters and his 4 grandchildren and always put them first. You will be missed, but I know your with your mom and now have met ours. We love Kem Grant. 

Kem was an amazing guy.  My first run in with him was when we traded figures online and his were rarer than mine but he wanted to bless my kiddos and I and sent them along right away.  After that we communicating here and there, and ended up praying for one another daily not long ago.  He was an incredibly generous person and despite his own circumstances, regularly encouraged others.  I wish I would've known him earlier.  He loved his family and Jesus and while my family is daily praying for you all, we rejoice knowing where he is now.  He wrote me a poem once, and I have saved that and will never forgot his kind soul.

I knew him on Facebook.  I knew him by his love of Superheroes.  I knew he loved his wife, his kids and Ole Miss. He was a good man to whom i prayed for regularly.  God bless you, Rowdy

To all who knew and loved him,

Rowdy was my friend and I am very proud of that fact.  I truly miss the talks we had about so many subjects.  My heart goes out to his family. I sincerely hope you all can find some comfort in knowing so many loved him.  Rowdy and I discussed toys, movies, pop culture and my birds. He really loved my goose, Herman. He asked about him a lot and would share animal stories in turn.

He was the only Admin of his Facebook group Superhero Sanctum, as a result I have started a new group called Rowdy's Superhero Sanctum in his honor.   He brought nearly 300 strangers together and I will do all I can to keep that group together. I know he was proud of it.   He will be missed but never forgotten.  God Bless.

I am so sorry for the entire Grant family and my deepest sympathies go to you for this great loss. He was my good friend, Amber’s,  dad, but we have gotten to know him over the years at the kids’ birthday parties and of course, at Academy. He always had that big smile and a kind word to share. He was so funny, and I loved getting to talk with him when we would see him.  It’s hard to think he is no longer here with the people that loved him, but I know he was so proud of his family.... his wife, 2 beautiful daughters and 4 sweet grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by many. 

My Brother in Law Kem is an Awesome Man. We both Loved the Ole Miss Rebels Football Team. He always wanted to go. I got us tickets and we went to the game in November and was it ever cold, we tried everything to keep warm. We drank a lot of hot chocolate. Kem said he had a blanket and we had another person with us. He said we could all bundle up, Lol at that time I was thinking about the jumbo tron in the stadium and that was all we needed was the jumbo tron showing 3 men in a blanket trying to stay warm. Lol man we had fun. I promised him once he got better we would go again. Sorry Buddy, was really wanting to make that trip again with you. Love you my Friend and Brother. RIP

I worked with Kem at Goodwill,  Collierville.  He was in charge of electronics. I was next to him in books and accessories.  My work day always went by so quickly because we never ran out of things to talk and debate over.  What a unique soul.  And those homemade cookies,  oooowwweee. Good stuff.  
My favorite memory of all is his poetry.  Deep soul,  and sensitive heart. I loved that 99% of those poems were about his wife.  He always spoke so highly of her. 

Rowdy and I shared a love of all things Superhero,  but as we talked it became more apparent we had more in common. We both lost our fathers at a early age and were raised by a single parent, we talked about Elvis, the blues and music in general, Rowdy said I was one of his three amigos many times. He ask me to help him with a Facebook page he wanted to start Supehero Sanctum and ask me to join his Pop's Page and felt honored to do so. Rowdy's was wonderful at all these things but I think his biggest achievements were his love of his family, God and his uncanny ability to be a friend to people he never met, you see Rowdy lived in Memphis and I in Frankenmuth MI. I am saddened by the lost of my long distance friend. I pray to our lord to guide him on his eternal journey, till we talk again! I send my condolences to his family in their time of sorrow! Kem  was my 6 year old son Tony’s favorite buddy every time we went to Academy, which was often.  As soon as we walked in the door you would an excited “there’s my little buddy!” And they would stand there and talk and joke away. Tony has several little treasures that Kem was sweet enough to give him on several occasions. He will be greatly missed and we are so sorry for the loss of such a kind soul here on earth but I’m sure he is smiling down from heaven. 

I met Kem on FB through our mutual love of superheros, specifically batman as he is my son's favorite. Kem was a kind man with a generous heart. He periodically sent my son batmobile hot wheels cars he didn't have yet (which is the nicest thing I've ever seen) and we talked almost daily. He brought joy to not only myself but to my son and entire family.

Although I never got to meet him in person, his presence in my life will be dearly missed and he will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathies to his entire family. He was a great man. 

Thank you Kem for always making your little BatBuddy smile when an unexpected envelope would show up from you for him. My son will cherish the custom painted batmobile hot wheel and "superccool" undertaker guy you sent him forever. We will miss you buddy.
