Loran Lee Laughlin

He was an alumnus of Ole Miss graduating in 1970, and he received a law degree at U of Louisville, Louis D Brandeis School of Law in 1973.

Loran worked for a moving company, was a practicing attorney for many years, and worked with several auto dealerships before joining Chuck Hutton Chevrolet. He was at Chuck Hutton for 25 years and loved every day of it.

Loran married the love of his life, Cathy Wherry in December of 1999. They were devoted members of the Collierville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Cathy, on March 18, 2025 and his parents Billye and Dean Laughlin.

He loved riding horses, raising cattle and tending to his beloved dogs. He was an all-around great guy who dressed impeccably, rose early each day and loved the outdoors. He was happiest when he was outside, mowing, tending to his animals or riding a tractor.

Loran had a gift to talk, he knew and loved being around all sorts of people. He was well versed on many subjects and enjoyed sharing interesting conversations. He loved going back to Texas to visit his family in Morgan Mill.

Services will be on Sunday, October 4 at 2:00 pm at the Collierville Funeral Home on Bailey Station Road. Visitation for friends and family will be held 1:30-2:00 pm before the service.
