Dear Betty, we are so sorry for your loss. Burk was one of nature's gentlemen. He provided leadership in both Public & Private Life. We were involved in both. Burk's career was amazing, from his time at Paducah to Clarksville at the Zinc Operations and the Bank.Our memories of our times together with you & Burk continue to linger. particularly the Thanksgiving Dinners. To the Burkhalter family: What an honor it was to know Burk. He was a magnificent man who loved the Lord.  He was a faithful friend and a loving father and husband. While Alex's roommate at A&M, he and Betty helped set up the blind date that led to Jan and Alex meeting and marrying. And a lifetime of friendship and memories ensued. Wow.

Betty, on behalf of the Class of '47, let me say how greatly Burke will be missed by all of us who knew him. Mary Purcell and I are especially grateful that we had a glimpse of him last summer when you and Paula met us for lunch in Brentwood. What a great man and a true friend to us UMHB Angels. Mr. Burkhalter was the finest man I have ever work for. His leadership and guidance at Clarksville's first Zinc Plant in 1978 was a major factor that 35 years later, it still remains a thriving plant. His leadership and hummanity will always be his legacy.
