Martha Ann Owen Apple entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born on October 4, 1935, in Nashville, Tennessee to William Bradford and Grace Evelyn Owen. She was a woman of strong Christian faith, whose life reflected her love for the Lord, her family, friends, and community.
Martha was married to Ernest Franklin Apple from 1953 until his passing in 1998. While Ernest served in the United States Air Force, the couple lived briefly in Hawaii, where their eldest son, Steve, was born. Together, Martha and Ernest were blessed with five children: Steve, Brad, Lynn, John, and Paul.
Martha was a faithful and active member of Collierville First Baptist Church for 60 years, and was also one of the founding members of the “Collierville Women’s Club.” For Martha, sharing Christ’s love was a lifelong calling, evidenced by her 40 years of teaching kindergarteners in Sunday School, leading Acteens, volunteering at Vacation Bible School, delivering Meals on Wheels, and hosting and attending ladies Bible studies. She enjoyed sewing, baking, playing cards with friends, playing the piano, and curating perfectly wrapped presents for those she loved.
Above all, Martha was devoted to her family and cherished spending time with them. She was a fierce prayer warrior and a wonderful listener. Her presence brought peace and warmth, which will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Franklin Apple , and her sons, John Apple and Steve Apple. She is survived by her children, Brad (Vicki) Apple, Lynn (Rodney) Keef, and Paul (Regina) Apple; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
