Mike's Family,
I knew who Mike was since he graduated with my husband from Messick High School. Over the years, I would run into him since he worked the festivals I attended--Greek Fest, Italian Fest, & Memphis In May BBQ--we'd chat a little bit--always enjoyed seeing him. I was sorry to hear about his death. My thoughts & prayers are with his family at this time. RIP, my friend!

I am greatly saddened by Mike’s death. He and the great officers that he oversaw provided security services for our parish for over twenty years. We ALL loved him! He took time to get to know many of our parishioners and would assure them that he and his men were going to make sure things were safe while they were on the job. And he did!! He repeatedly invited our young people and their leaders to his farm for cookouts. His professionalism, care, and genial personality greatly raised our respect for our police. We were very happy for him when he was named one the colonels for the police department, for we all knew he deserved it as much as any. Nevertheless, we all continued to call him “Major Mike” for he entered our hearts that way. We will all miss him very much. May God grant him paradise!

Please accept my sincere condolences and prayers to the Fuller family. I went to Messick High School with Mike and Tommy. I was not in touch, until Mike showed up as a Major at the North Precinct of the M.P.D., where I was a civilian ambassador. We would talk occasionally, then he left and I lost contact with him. If I remember correctly, I ran into him a couple of years ago and he was in a Shelby County Sheriff's uniform. We talked awhile, but that was the last time I saw him.
In High school, I used to think of Mike as a "gentle giant" He was mild in demeanor, but walked squarely down the hallways, and nobody gave him any trouble. Rest in peace, Mike.

Mike was my lieutenant at the West Precinct many years ago. When anyone first met him, he was a little intimidating, with his stature, and baritone voice. You soon found out that He was the complete opposite. He was a model leader, strong yet gentle and caring, a great role model. The thing that matters most to all, is how you lived your life. I want to tell everyone that He lived it well, He made a difference, He was a servant to others. So well it is sad that he passed I celebrate the life he lived, a good model for others.

Mike, otherwise know as John Wayne, due to that deep voice and cowboy walk.

A true Southern gentleman and dedicated his friends and family. He also protected his city with everything he had through law enforcement. Even though I didn't know you a lifetime, the time we worked at Kroger together was great. I still make those Lemon Ice Boxed Pies you shared with us. Now go and enjoy " The Ranch" with no pains or illnesses. You'll be missed by many. RIP, Sir
