Nina C. Minor

Nina Chicota Minor was born in Flintville TN January 13th, 1938. She went into the loving arms of her lord and savior Jesus Christ April 24th, 2015. Nina was a victim of Alzheimer's and spent her last two years of life at The Gardens of Germantown where she passed.

Nina was a long time resident of Collierville TN. She worked at Carrier Corporation for more than 30 years. She was the first female employee hired and was promoted as the first female foreman at the Collierville plant.

Nina was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with the Collierville Community Center. Nina loved attending Bible Study Fellowship and was a long time member of Central Church. Nina had an unwavering faith in God and trusted him in all her steps. Gardening, sewing, long walks and traveling were all passions for Nina. Throughout her life, Nina always put others first, especially her children and grandchildren.

Nina is predeceased by her loving parents Iloff 'Fatty' and Hattie Lee Pepper Bruce, her brother James Walter 'Buddy' Bruce and her ex-husband Charles. She is survived by her four children, Karen Ann Holden (Tommy) of Germantown TN, Michael Keith Minor of Red Banks MS, Charles Mark Minor (Barbara) of Stone Mountain GA and Susan Lee Jones (Bruce) of Chicago IL. Eleven grandchildren, Ynis Minor, Andrew Jones, Katie Holden Harvey (Matt), Matthew Jones (Hannah), Mark Minor, Amy Holden Chandler (Shawn), Jacob Jones (Rachel), Will Minor, Valerie Minor, Meredith Holden, Benjamin Minor and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Collierville Funeral home Monday April 27th from 5-7pm. services will be held 10am Tuesday April 28th at Collierville Funeral home. Interment, for family only will be at Magnolia cemetery in Collierville following the service.
