Richard “Ricky” Joseph Ackerman, born August 7, 1965 in Memphis, TN, went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2011. Ricky leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Jackie; son William Joseph “BJ” Ackerman (Jennifer) of Millington, TN; daughter, Samantha Crumley (Brett) of Newark, TX; two granddaughters, Gracie and Haley, and one grandson, Miles; parents, Bill and Betty Ackerman of Memphis, TN; two sisters; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Collierville Funeral Home, Collierville, TN beginning at 1:00 pm for visitation, and the memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm with Bro. I am so sorry on the passing of Ricky, my heart is breaking. I loved him VERY much!!! I just found out about this and I am so very saddened by this news. My prayers are with the family.

thank you every one who has prayed for my family. my daddy was an amazing person inside and out. i miss him more than anyone can ever know. he touched many hearts in his lifetime. daddy was the most important man in my life and nothing can even begin to fill the space in my heart for him, except for love and the knowledge that i will see him again someday. thank you all so much for the support and love you have given me, my mother, and my brother.

Jackie, I was very sad to hear this. I worked with Rick in Iraq, and Saudi and considered him a good friend. I spoke with Rick, just a few weeks before his passing, via email. Again I am sorry for your loss.
