

Richard Allen Bennett, age 81, of Collierville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025. Richard was born in Camden, Arkansas, and was raised in Little Rock. He was a devoted husband to Peggy Bennett, and beloved father to Dickey Bennett, (Joy Bennett) of Olive Branch, MS and Brian Bennett (Laine Bennett) of Lilburn, GA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Mackenzi, Kelsie, Brayden of Olive Branch, and Walker, CJ, Dillon, Austen, and Cameron of Lilburn, GA. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Johnson, of Little Rock and brother, Gary Bennett of North Little Rock.
Richard worked for Cummins Mid-South as a diesel mechanic for 42 years before his retirement in 2009. Richard was a die-hard fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, and loyal member of the First Baptist Church of Collierville, where he served for a time as an usher. In retirement, he became a member of the Y-nots, a group of retired men from the YMCA who met weekly at the Wolf River Café for breakfast or lunch. He was a gregarious man with a great laugh who never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Richard will be held Friday, June 20,2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Collierville Funeral Home, located at 3863 Bailey Station Road, Collierville, Tn 38017, followed be a funeral service from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm. He will be laid to rest at the Magnolia Cemetery, Collierville, Tennessee following the service.
