Richard William Lutey

Richard “Dick” Lutey, 79, Collierville, TN. His worldly body passed away June 24, 2014 but his Spirit will be with us forever. He is the loving husband (57 years) of Doreen Lutey, father of three sons, Richard II, David, and Phillip (Phil), grandfather of seven, great-grandfather of one, brother of two sisters, and uncle of four. He lived a very full life, travelling on business (Buckman Laboratories) to more countries than not and then returning for pleasure trips with his wife and family. Professionally he was an internationally known industrial microbiologist and consultant. He contributed to the Memphis community as a volunteer with MIFA. He also was instrumental in starting the youth sports program with the Germantown Optimist Club and was very active in the Balmoral Presbyterian Church as an Elder. He will be remembered fondly by his friends at the Tower. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday July 13, at the Balmoral Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow.
