Mr. Ronald Lee Proctor

Ron Proctor, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Germantown, Tennessee, on July 8, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on September 25, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, Ron lived a life defined by faith, service, dedication, and an unwavering love for family. His love and generosity extended well beyond his immediate family, embracing siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and lifelong friends who became family. He was a graduate of Memphis State University and later earned his master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 27 years, retiring with the rank of Colonel. Throughout his military career, he exemplified leadership, integrity, and selfless service, earning the respect of those who served alongside him.

On August 16, 1965, Ron married the love of his life, Ronnie Kaye Proctor. Together they shared more than 60 years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished traditions.

Ron was the proud father of Todd Proctor, Cindy Lenoir (Scot), and Steve Proctor (Jennifer). He was a loving and devoted grandfather—known simply and affectionately as "Pap/Papaw"—to Megan Calton (Andrew), Katie Proctor, Ethan Lenoir, Mitch Proctor, Cole Proctor, JB Lenoir, Olivia Proctor, and Ellie Proctor. Being "Pap/Papaw" was one of the greatest joys of his life, and his grandchildren will forever treasure the love, wisdom, laughter, and unforgettable memories he shared with each of them. He was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Lucy Proctor, who brought him immeasurable joy.

He is also survived by his sister, Connie Buchholz; his brother, Robert Proctor; and his sister, Pam Whiddon, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Burney Proctor, his mother, Pauline Proctor and brother, Don Proctor.

Outside of his military service, Ron embraced life with enthusiasm. In his younger years, he enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, racquetball, and golf. He loved staying active and was always happiest when spending time with family and friends.

A lifelong Memphian, Ron was an enthusiastic supporter of the University of Memphis Tigers and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Tigers. He also had a special fondness for Gibson's Donuts or a good bowl of ice cream. Those simple pleasures, shared with family and friends, often became moments of laughter, conversation, and memories that will be treasured for years to come.

While his accomplishments were many, Ron's greatest joy was his family. Some of his happiest moments were spent at the lake, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and friends. Whether boating, relaxing by the water, or gathering for an evening of karaoke, Pap/Papaw could always be counted on to lead the way with his favorite Elvis songs. His infectious smile, playful spirit, and wholehearted rendition of Elvis classics became a tradition everyone looked forward to. Those weekends at the lake became the backdrop for countless cherished memories and will forever remain part of his family's story.

Ron will be remembered for his love of Christ, generous heart, steadfast character, and deep devotion to his family. Whether serving his country, supporting his family, or simply spending time with those he loved, he lived with humility, integrity, and purpose. His legacy is one of faithful service, unconditional love, and a life well lived. Although he will be deeply missed, the values he instilled and the memories he created will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ron's life on Friday, July 31, 2026. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., both at Collierville Funeral Home. A military burial with honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Following the burial, all are invited to join the family at Cindy and Scot Lenoir’s house for a Celebration of Life from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., where stories, memories, and fellowship will honor the remarkable life of a beloved husband, father, Pap/Papaw, veteran, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made in Ron's honor to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project. These organizations reflect Ron's lifelong commitment to serving his country and supporting those who have sacrificed for our nation.
