Sonny Adams, owner and director of Sunbelt Business Brokers for over 25 years passed into heaven, peacefully and surrounded by his close family and friends on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Previous to Sunbelt, he enjoyed a 20 year career with General Electric Corporation and Thomas Consumer Electronics.
He was born on June 13, 1946 in Haywood County, Tn, and raised in Stanton, Tn. Sonny graduated from the University of Alaska with a degree in Economics and Finance while serving his country in the US Air Force.
Throughout his career as a Business Broker he was instrumental in helping many, many individuals realize their entrepreneurial dreams, and he took great pleasure in their successes.
He was a charter member of Christ The Rock Church, serving as one of the original Trustees followed by leading the Promise Keepers men's group. In recent years, he became a foundational core member of the One City Church family located in Germantown.
Sonny always valued the experiences life had to offer whether it was getting his toes in the sand during his much loved beachtime, or as an avid waterman who enjoyed boating and all watersports. Additionally, he was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing as often as possible and had the joy of hitting a hole-in-one at the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course on his 60th birthday trip.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sonny Adams, Sr. and his mother, Katherine, and most recently his beloved granddaughter, Brooke Eden Adams.
He leaves behind his treasured wife, Barbara, with whom he shared 57 happily married years. Additionally, he leaves his son, Brittain and granddaughter, Tayla Blue, both of whom reside in Castle Rock, Colorado, as well as his sister, Tina Faulk of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, along with many friends.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, December 1 at 10:00 am, with services following at 11:00 am at One City Church, 3100 S. Houston Levee Rd., Germantown, Tn. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Collierville, TN.
