On November 26, 2022, with her sons by her side, Ruby Louis “Jean” (Allen) Bing, 79, of Harmontown, Mississippi went home to the Lord. She was born January 10, 1943, to Mary Helen (Howell, nee’ Miller) and Robert Allen. She was married to Marvin Bing from September 1958 until his passing in July 2011. Their life together was filled with the blessings of three sons and the tragedy of the loss of a child – but through it all their trust in Jesus did not fail.
Once their children were grown and starting families of their own, Jean and Marvin spent two decades as the proprietors of Holiday Lodge Restaurant on Sardis Lake, Mississippi where they found a community Jean loved and demonstrated to her grandchildren the value of hard work.
She was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow, Tennessee. It was there that she grew her unwaivering faith and taught her children and grandchildren to know the love of Jesus. Her prayer until the end was that her family have the salvation, she was so confident in.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Linda Bing of Memphis, Tennessee and David and Dana Bing of Rogers, Arkansas; by 5 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren, Andrea Womack (Drew), Stephen Bing, Timothy Bing, Chandler Bing, Mckenzie Bing, Tyler Cash, and B.J. Cash; 8 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ginger Davis, and two brothers, Jim Howell and Danny Howell, numerous nieces and nephews, and many extended family members and friends who, whether they knew her as Jean, Aunt Jean, Mrs. Jean, Mom, or Nanny, will miss her dearly.
Her passing has reunited her with all the friends and family who have predeceased her, including her brother, Joe Howell, but most significantly with Marvin and the son she’s been missing for 52 years, Lewis Bing.
Visitation will be held Wednesday November 30, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1980 Oak Grove Drive, Moscow, Tennessee. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
