Sally Ann Lee (Clay), born November 4, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 26, 2025. A proud graduate of West Philadelphia Girls Catholic School, Class of 1959, Sally lived a life filled with curiosity, devotion, and love.
She married the love of her life, John Lee, on October 5, 1963. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising eight children: James, Johnny, Michael, Kevin (Seth), Sean (Susan), Elizabeth (Heidi), Brian (Stephanie), and Maureen (Michael). Sally’s greatest joy was her family, especially her ten beloved grandchildren: Morgan, Lauren, Sally, Marilyn, Madeline, Matthew, Ava, Nora, Benjamin, and Emma.
In 1989, Sally and John made their home in Collierville, Tennessee, where she built lasting friendships and a loving community. Sally had a sharp mind and a lifelong love of mysteries and political intrigue, passions that were matched only by her commitment to her faith and family. She traveled Europe as a young woman, later returning with her family to explore their Irish heritage.
Before dedicating her life to raising her family, Sally worked for NBC in Philadelphia, where her intelligence and tenacity were admired by all who knew her.
A memorial gathering will be held at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road, Thursday May 8, 2025 from 5-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday May 9, 2025 at the Church of the Incarnation in Collierville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sally’s memory to Porter-Leath (porterleath.org 901-577-2500), an organization close to her heart.
Sally’s love, spirit, and wisdom will be deeply missed but will continue to live on in all those she touched.
