Samuel Winborn Bennett was born on July 28, 1937. He was the youngest of three children and was preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles Bennett and James Roy Bennett. He is survived by his wife; Betty Milam Bennett, son and daughter in law; Jonathan and Jennifer Bennett, and two granddaughters; Grace Caroline Bennett and Emma Elizabeth Bennett. Sam served in the Navy from 1958-1962 and married Betty Jo Milam on November 16, 1963. Sam was Uncle Sam to 14 nieces and nephews. He was called Daddy Sam and known as Papaw Sam to his two granddaughters, Grace and Emma Bennett. Sam loved to hunt, fish, tinker with cars, play jokes and had a difficult time throwing anything away, a known Bennett trait. Sam was convinced that one day he would win the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes and told Jonathan on many occasions that this was the year and when he won, he was going to share the winnings with him. Later in life, Sam and Betty moved around the corner from his oldest brother, Charles. Sam loved driving the one minute to Charles house to hang out in the garage discussing politics and solving all of the worlds problems. Sam was a kind soul with a great smile and sense of humor. He loved Betty and wanted to take care of her as long as he possibly could. He was a great believer and had many faith discussions with Jonathan until the end. He will be missed, but we look forward to seeing him again in Heaven with a new body free from pain and sickness. Sam went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2021. He would have been 84 on July 28, 2021.
