Susan graduated from Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, with the Class of 1967. She was a talented flautist and played flute and piccolo with many talented musicians throughout her life. Music was an important part of her life, and for many years she faithfully played every Sunday with the orchestra at Germantown Baptist Church.
Known as “Nana” to her grandchildren, Susan was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the funniest person you could ever meet. She was a source of quiet strength, a trusted caregiver, and a doting grandmother who loved her grandchildren dearly.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dena Bowers of Little Rock, and by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Berry of Germantown, whom she married on August 29, 1969.
She is survived by her brother Jeff Bowers of Little Rock, and her three children: son Andy (Maggie; grandchildren Oakley and Wyatt), daughter Dena, and son Matt (Laura; grandchildren Elliot and Jacob).
Susan will be deeply missed, but her love and kindness will remain a lasting presence in the lives of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her incredible sense of humor, her warmth and devotion to others, and the countless ways she cared for those around her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 14 at 10:00 AM, at Germantown Baptist Church.
