Walter Jackson Burris

Walter Jackson Burris, 85, of Collierville, Tennessee, died on Monday, March, 25, 2013. A 1982 retiree of the Federal Aviation Agency, Mr. Burris was veteran of the United States Navy. The family will receive guests and friends on Sunday, March 31 from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. and funeral services will be on Monday, April 1 beginning at 9:30a.m. all at Collierville Funeral Home located at 534 W. Poplar Avenue, Collierville, Tennessee. A committal service with military honors will follow at 10:30a.m.at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Dr. Chuck Herring of Collierville First Baptist Church will officiate the services. Mr. Burris is survived by his wife Norma Burris; daughter Natalie Butler, sons Mark, Rhen & Stu Burris; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Memorials in lieu of customary remembrances may be made to Collierville First Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
