Wanda Sue Hammons Rodgers died at age 78 on January 28, 2021. Wanda was born on July 15, 1942 in Oxford, MS. She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1960. She was a homemaker and a day-care provider. She was a member of Forest Hill Church of Christ. Wanda and her husband are members of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) and the Memphis Old Time Car Club.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Billy Rodgers; a daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Brett Cappadona; a son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Julie Rodgers; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Scotty and Robin Rodgers. She has six grandchildren that she loved dearly: Jake Rodgers, Tori Cappadona, Ayden Rodgers, Avery Rodgers, Joe Cappadona, and Brady Rodgers.
Wanda is survived by her two brothers and five sisters: Her twin sister, Betty Stewart (Ronald) of Hickory Valley, TN; sister Linda Tinch (Winton) of LaFollette, TN; sister, Brenda Mooney (Larry) of Hickory Valley, TN; sister Shirley Clifft (Ted) of Hickory Valley, TN; brother, Phillip Hammons (Deborah) of Bolivar, TN; sister, Donnis Lake (Barry) of Hickory Valley, TN and brother, Doug Hammons (Tammy) of Hickory Valley, TN.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James Wilburn Hammons and Ona Mae Capshaw Hammons; and her brother, Larry Gene Hammons.
Visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 11 at Forest Hill Church of Christ. Memorial service at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. Forest Hill Church of Christ is located at 3950 Forest Hill-Irene Road in Memphis, TN.
