William Henry Erneste, age 83 passed away Thursday, May 6 after a long and fulfilling life. He was born in Connellsville, PA, the son of Catherine and William Thomas Erneste. He was a brother to Mary Catherine Costello and Karen Murtha, who preceded him in death. Married to his wife Charlotte Erneste for 59 years, he spent his life caring for his three children and his six grandchildren. His pride and joy was his first born great-grandchild, who brought him happiness every day.
A hardworking and passionate man, Bill was known to everyone and was always dedicated to giving his life to his work, from the National Guard, to Continental Grain, to his service with the Knights of Columbus for 60 years. He spent many years working with the Prison Ministry and was an active member of both Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St Brigid Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte, his children William Erneste II, Terri Moore (Michael), and Teddi Niedzwiedz (Frank), his grandchildren Christopher Niedzwiedz (Amy), Patrick Niedzwiedz, Elizabeth Niedzwiedz, Rachel Moore, William John Erneste, and Samantha Erneste, as well as his great grandchild Naiomi Daniels.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, May 10, from 1:30 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial begins at 2:30 p.m. all at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8151 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, TN 38138. Fr. Jolly will be the Celebrant for the Mass.
