Aileen was born in Canton, North Carolina to Carlton and Flora Pless. She graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1943, and went on to have a career as a bookkeeper for Singer Sewing Co. in Woodbury, then L+C Tool and Die in Berlin, NJ. Her true passion was sewing. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t make including the entire wedding and bridal party gowns for her daughters wedding. She was also a passionate and voracious reader. Aileen was also a traveler. She and Lou traveled Europe visiting Normandy, for his service along the way. Later they traveled from coast to coast in their motor home. She loved her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She gave of herself freely, helping anyone in need. Aileen will be missed by all who loved her.
