Alpo was a longtime resident of Collingswood, NJ. He was born to Cecelia Rose Procida (nee Springel) and Alberto Joseph Procida Sr. in 1939 in Philadelphia, PA.
Alpo is survived by his wife, Ellen Procida, and his children, Marybeth, Christine (Kim), Matthew (Elizabeth), and Ellen (Jim), as well as 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom were present at his passing.
He loved collecting model trains, working on his truck, and fishing. He didn’t always reel something in, but “that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching.” He was an accomplished engineer and a skilled craftsman. He took great pride in his work, especially when he was able to use his skills to help his loved ones. He didn’t just teach them how to fix a house, but what it meant to build a home for his family.
Called ‘Pop-Pop’ or ‘Poppy’ by his grandchildren, Alpo was a sharp-witted prankster. He never took fashion cues from anyone, always seen in a t-shirt and an Eagles hat. He was eager to teach his children and grandchildren everything, from changing a tire to not putting elbows on the table.
Alpo will be adoringly remembered and passionately missed by his family and friends.
