My dear Uncle Bart was one of those rare people who were truly authentic: honest, caring, without artifice.
I remember how even when I was very young, Uncle Bart always spoke to me like an equal, showed interest in my life, and enriched my mind by playing word games with me and my cousin, Susan.
In later years, Uncle Bart was a treasured confidante to me as I struggled with addictions and attended 12-Step meetings. Again, Uncle Bart always spoke to me as an equal: never preaching, never condescending, and always encouraging. I owe my recovery in part to Uncle Bart's consistent willingness to help me anytime I needed it.
Blessings to you, Uncle Bart. Rest in peace with your father, Bartolomeo Aglialoro.
