My continued deepest sympathy to Aunt Dot's family and friends. As most people know, holiday time is an especially difficult time of year to lose someone you love. 

My father died on Dec. 20 (my sister's birthday) and my mother died on Christmas eve. I empathize with those who loved and continue to love Aunt Dot, both because she's gone and because Christmas is associated with the sorrow of losing her.  Blessings to you.

My family and I were just talking about Dorothy, how she continued volunteering in the Methodist Home's gift shop late into her life and was always welcoming and kind to visitors of the shop. She was, for that matter, kind to everyone she knew, filled with love and a positive spirit. What a beautiful person, both inside and out. I enjoyed a visit with her in that gift shop one afternoon when I was in the Methodist Home for a Christmas bazaar.  She spoke with great love of her family and we covered a lot of other topics. I hadn't ever had such a long talk with her before, even at family gatherings, and was struck by how smart and insightful she was.

I've always admired "Aunt Dot" (my brother-in-law Jack Kinner's aunt) for her kindness, friendliness, and involvement in life, including volunteering for various organizations.  The last time I talked with her, she was volunteering -- in her mid-90s! -- in the thrift shop at Collingswood Manor.  I remember thinking that she was beautiful both in appearance and spirit.  She and I sat and talked in the thrift shop for a good hour and I admired her positive outlook and interest in many topics.  I'm sorry I couldn't visit her after that time due to Covid, but I'm glad she was able to enjoy a long, productive life filled with loving family members and friends.  She was the kind of person who drew people to her because of how much she cared for and showed an interest in others.
