Elizabeth M.” Betty” Argentina (nee Marino), of Mantua, formerly of Collingswood and Bellmawr, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026, at the age of 82. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones.
True to her commonly used phrase, “you can call me anything you want, just don’t call me late for dinner”, Betty was right on time for Sunday dinner in heaven.
Born in South Philadelphia to Daniel and Jennie Marino, Betty graduated from Southern High School in 1961. She was active in sports, clubs, and served as the President of the Student Athletic Council.
During her lifetime, Betty’s career strengths were in Sales. From retail to real estate, Betty excelled at making connections with customers and never taking no for an answer. Most notably were her years at Metro phone and Comcast, where her nickname was “Betty beeper”. If you are reading this, chances are you bought a cellphone from Betty.
Betty was also a talented and creative cook and baker. After formally retiring, she created, owned, and operated her own Italian cookie business. No holiday or family celebration was complete without a beautifully decorated tray of Betty’s delicious homemade cookies.
Betty is predeceased by her parents and brother, Joseph Marino. She is survived by her sister Dolores Marino; children Joseph (Leigh), Julie (Gordon), Janet (Matt); grandchildren, Abigail, Jack, Rose, Nicole, Caroline; numerous Marino cousins, nieces, nephews; along with grandfurbabies, Shelby, Nola, Sam, and Iris.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Blake-Doyle Funeral Home, 226 W Collings Avenue, Collingswood, NJ 08108.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (www.cff.org) in Elizabeth Argentina’s memory.
