I am sorry to hear of Mr. Law's passing.  Collingswood owes him so much for all of his years of dedicated service.  I was always grateful to him when I was at St. Joe's Prep in the 70s and he bought Homecoming raffle tickets from me each year.  God bless you, Mr. Law.

I just heard today of the passing of Mr. Law. I want to express my deepest sympathies to the entire family.  Mr. Law was a great man and very good to me.  He will be greatly missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

It was good to be able to visit you a few months ago. Bud still had his good sense of humor and knowledge of all things happening around Collingswood.

He was one of the real pillars of Transfiguration Parish and of Collingswood, and he was such a consolation to my family, first with the passing of my dad and then with the recent passing of my mother. I was so sorry to hear of Bud's passing. I had known him for many years in my role as t head of a senior citizen agency in Camden County. I got to know him even better when he became chair of our Transportation Advisory Committee. He was an astute, personable man who had a big heart. Bud & Ritie were always a huge presence in the lives of the Hill family.  Our parents, Bud & Dot Hill, not only were related, but, were best friends with your Mom and Dad for so many years.  I can't tell you how many times I heard the name "Coach" throughout the years along with some other unique names. 

We always looked forward to those dips in the pool on Sunday afternoons when so many extended family were given the opportunity to spend a relaxing afternoon together because that was what we were all about....family.  What a great house and pool!

One of the most important memories I have of your Dad was at my high school graduation in 1973 when he handed me my diploma.  After the event, we all headed back to my parent's home for a great party.  Your Dad asked me what my plans were (basically nothing) and upon hearing what I had to say he immediately told me that I should speak to the Borough Engineer of Colls, John Osler.  Needless to say, within two days, I was working for John Osler.  So, your Dad was responsible for giving me my first job.

The best memory of your Dad goes back to when I was a little girl.  My sister Rita already touched on this moment, but, I have to say that I've never experienced such a funny moment in my life.  I remember your Mom and Dad rolling on the beach when they discovered that the "Hills" had dropped their stuff off at the right address but the wrong house and block.  I will never forget the looks of surprise when my father commented on the nude painting in the Master bedroom and your parents said "What nude painting?"  If you were there that day, it took seconds before the "Hills" were headed up the beach followed by gales of laughter to grab our stuff out of a stranger's house. 

We were so lucky to have known your Dad.....we will miss him..... our faith tells us that the "greatest generation" is answering another call....how fortunate we are to have known them all.

Fran and family: I have so many great memories of your dad, from our political discussions, to theology, to just hearing his hearty laugh, sometimes from several rooms away. When I look over his formidable list of accomplishments and activities, it is remarkable that one man can do so much in a small town, but Collingswood was his stage. Your dad was an amazing man of character, and we are all blessed to have had him touch our lives.

My condolences to the Law family on Mr. Law's passing. Growing up in West Collingswood and sharing the Transfiguration parish with the Law family leaves me with fond memories. Mr. Law was wonderful to both my mother and mother-in-law while living at the Collingswood Arms and he was always so welcoming when I visited. May he rest in peace, he was such a wonderful person.

My sympathies to the family. The world has lost a great man. Always dedicated to serving his community. I know my parents will be waiting in heaven to greet their old friend.

As a fellow Alumni and current Superintendent of Valley Forge Military Academy, please accept my condolences on the loss of this great man.  Men like me stand on the shoulders of men of honor, like Bud, who forged the way.  Duty, Honor, Country.  I will have our Chaplain say a prayer at our next service for Bud, his family and all who were honored to have known him.

We were very saddened to hear of the passing of Bud. It was indeed an honor to have known him for so many years. He was a kind gentleman who loved to share his memories of "Old Collingswood". These stories were always very interesting and educational as he remembered details with his sharp memory. We will miss him and cherish his memory as will all of the citizens of Collingswood. May he rest in everlasting peace.

Some people are so alive that it is hard to believe that they have passed.  Bud has always been a very special person in my life and in the lives of my family.  The friendship he shared with my parents gave us the opportunity to be a second family - I will always remember the wonderful hospitality extended to us as kids on those hot summer days when a dip in the pool was so welcome.  There are so many fond memories, but a couple come to mind.  One I recall is a particularly fun day on the beach in Ocean City when it was discovered that my entire family had accidently used a complete stranger's house to change because we got the address for Ritie and Bud's rental house wrong.  I will never forget Ritie and Bud rolling on the beach with laughter as my parents gathered us up to go back and get our clothes out of the house before we were discovered.  Also Bud made a special mention when he handed me my diploma from Collingswood High that I was the 10th and final in a long line of Hills...it made me feel very special that day.  In later years, my husband Chris and I had an absolute riot with Bud, Ritie and two friends on the trip they won to England.  They came to our house and drank champagne, and they took us to dinner at the Stafford, where Bud proceeded to charm the staff into an unforgettable evening.  It was fun to finally get to know Bud as an "adult" and that bond made for many a fun conversation in the years that followed.  To all the family, we are so sorry, but we know that all your happy memories will help to sustain you during this time.  We will all miss this fabulous man who will never be forgotten. Phil, Nora, and I are so sorry for your loss. I have many happy childhood memories of Bud on Easter at Harvard Avenue. He was always smiling. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. (Chrissy Tittermary Sheppard--Dot Hill's granddaughter and Dolly Tittermary's daughter).

We are so sorry to hear of Bud's passing. He was bigger than life, always a presence in our lives. From so many family gatherings, to days at the pool, to all of my family receiving our CHS diplomas from him, we remember his laugh, his wit and his dedication to his family and to Collingswood. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ritie and the family. May you all find peace in the knowledge that Bud's was a life well lived in service to God, his family and his community.

I will miss Bud tremendously. My early years in Collingswood with Mary Pat and Ank along with my siblings John, Crick, Dot were so much fun. Visiting your old house on Haddon Avenue and Aunt Rita's on Knight Ave. were our major social outings. Having your Dad around was like having a 2nd father. We listened to him with the same respect we gave our own father and he felt comfortable keeping us in line. When I was sick with Rhuematic Fever, it was Bud who stepped up and saw to it that I had access to the medicine which cured me of that terrible childhood malady. Later, John and I used to go with Dad to the softball games of the Browning Road Aces where we were treated as little adults by all of the great guys that were part of that whole scene and where Bud was one of the brightest lights. He was a true presence in my life who I used to bump into all of the time. I'll end by reminding everyone of the great times and tales which were told in the backyard at Harvard Ave around a keg by Bud and the Unks every Easter up until very recently.
