Peacefully on Sept. 11, 2016 at St. Mary’s Center, Cherry Hill. Beloved Mother of Frederick (Alice) Ballay, Jr. of Cape May, John (Chavelle) Ballay of Greenwood, FL and Carol Ballay Gillece of Marlton; devoted Grandmother of Frederick (Carol) Ballay, III, Nancy (Colleen Polazneck) Ballay, Michele Horvath, James II (Patty) Gillece, Kevin (Katelyn) Gillece, Christopher (Suzanne) Ballay, Michael Ballay, Scott (Julie) Ballay, John (Kelly) Gillece and Brian Ballay; Great, Grandmother of 16 and many nieces & nephews; Predeceased by her first husband, Frederick Ballay, Sr. and her second husband, Theodore Warner; sister, Naomi Veroline; brothers, Harry & John and infant daughter, Gloria.
Freda graduated from Camden High School and was employed by Esterbrook Pen Co., Camden Credit and was an accounting clerk in the banking community.
Freda’s favorite activities included baking, crafts & crocheting; she loved providing deserts for all family celebrations. Freda was famous for her cookies and cinnamon rolls. During her long life Freda lived in Camden County, Ocean City and, for many years, Florida and Cape May. She loved the beach, sun and ocean and loved being with her family and attending their celebrations. During these events, Freda was always seen with her wine, toasting the event. We always remember her favorite toast: “over the lips, over the gums, look out tummy here I come ! ”
Viewing Tuesday 10:30 AM in the Chapel of St. Thomas More Church, 1439 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill. Funeral MASS 11:30 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
