Passed away at home in his sleep on October 4, 2012. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. Survived by his wife Eleanor (nee Hillman) Couris; Children, Colleen(Thomas) Deacon, Bernard Couris, Stephan (Tricia Gualtieri) Couris, Cathleen (late Frank) Cook, Maureen (George) Baker, Sean (Judy) Couris, Michael Couris, the late Kevin, Christopher, and Philip Couris. Loving grandfather of Stephen Couris Jr, Theodore Deacon, Jenna(Tre) Costello, Dylan (Karen) Deacon, Ian Deacon, Cathryn (Desobry) Bowens, Linda Couris, Jeffrey (Kelly) Baker, Alison Baker, Christopher Deacon, Martha Deacon, Paul (Danielle) Gualtieri, Colleen Cook, Elizabeth Cook, Drew Paul Mako Couris, and Olivia Cleveland. Great Grandfather of Tyler Couris, Jack & Finley Costello, Sara Elizabeth Deacon, Jon Cayer, and Nicolas, Brianna, Robert & Lucy Gualtieri. Also survived by a close family friend Jayne Parker. John was a WWII Army veteran, who served in the European Theatre helping to liberate Dachau Concentration Camp, he was also a member of the American Legion in Collingswood, and the Disabled American Veterans in Westmont. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Viewing Monday 9:30am at Most Precious Blood Parish, Transfiguration Church, 445 White Horse Pike, Collingswood. Funeral Mass 11am.
