So sad to hear of the passing of my long time friend Big John. We worked together many years ago at the Borough Of Collingswood. Together we started the union there that is still going strong. Both Collingswood boys. John's mom and sister Maria worked with my mom for years. Maria was my class mate at Colls. John was a very outgoing person and a creative thinker. He made a dramatic impression in every room he walked in. RIP big guy.

You were my very good friend and I will turly miss you. We had a long history together. Did some great rides and had fun while in Last Patrol, MC. I will always remember that special "Laugh" of yours when we were out at "Guy's Night Out". Wilnot be the same without you there. We will toast you this Thursday at our favorite spot, Cap'n cats. I can not believe you are gone!  You have been such a great friend for over 30 years. You helped me with so many things and you knew when I needed help without me even having to ask.  I remember watching you with Little John as he "helped" you mow the lawn and when he used to play in the back of your truck as you tinkered around outside.  And Jackie and Michelle always up to something!! But you never ever got angry and loved the kids.  When Troy came,you treated him like your own family.  Troy loved to go outside and see Big John!  I could never thank you enough for all that you did for me and Troy!  And we always had so much fun going out!  My mom would always worry about me and I would say, but mom Big John is going too!  I will miss you.  You were taken too soon.  I will always be there for Joann and the kids as you were there me and my family.  Love you.

There are some people that leave an impression upon you particularly during your early years. John always had a big smile, hello and a bit of conversation when you crossed his path.  A great loss for all of his family and friends.  A great loss for the Class of '73. Rest in peace.

I met John when Texaco got sold and I was hired by Coastal. Although I worked in the lab, Meat was one of the first operators that I met working on the same shift together. He was an all around great guy and excepted me into the company at a trying time when others had lost their jobs. It was a pleasure to have been able to work with him for over 25 years, truly a great man. My deepest sympathy, condolences and prayers to his family and friends.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of John. We became friends at the Cat, when he used to come in with the guys from work for drinks. John,please give a hug to the Captain for me.

John Monteleone (Meat) was my brother in every sense of the word. I am grateful for the fond memories we shared for the past 18 years. We started out as co-workers, who turned into friends, who became brothers. I am going to miss him dearly, and our annual bike week vacation will never be the same. Big John....We met you all as neighbors close to 30 years ago, but now we all have become family. John and I were hired by the SRNJ on the same day - he as an engineer and I as a conductor. He was always easy going and patient, and it was a pleasure to work with him. I have fond memories of those days, and shall remember him and his family in my prayers.

You were my friend for over 10 years and we have had many great times (both riding and at Sunoco). I have only met a handful of men that have had the heart and generosity that you had. I will never forget our many bike runs and Sunoco Happy Hours. They may have torn apart our Eagle Point Refinery, but they could never tear apart our friendships! We will miss you dearly and you will be in our hearts forever!! – I hope my dad was waiting in heaven for you with a cold drink; he only arrived there 4 months ago.
