John J. O'Connor Jr.

John J. “Dr. John” O’Connor, Jr.; PhD., age 77, of Collingswood, NJ, died on May 7, 2017. Beloved husband of Patricia M. O’Connor (nee Lake); loving father of John J. III (Carrie), Kelly Ann O’Connor-McConnell (Jack), Kimberly Ann “Kim” O’Connor-Sparks (Jeff) and Charles Patrick “Pat” (Lisa); loving grandfather of Morgan and Mia McConnell and Cameryn, Blaire, and Brett Sparks; dear brother of William “Bill” (Sue); Leo (Monica) and Stephen (Debbie) O’Connor.

John’s education included PhD, CAS, CBT, CRPS - Addictive Disorders and Applied Health. He also attended LaSalle University B.S., Business & Psychology. He spent the first part of his career in business and real estate and then majority of his career as a mental health professional. “Dr John” will be remembered for his dedication to the field of Addictions & Recovery and his down-to-earth personality that graced everyone with whom he came in contact.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, May 12th from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday, May 13th from 8:30-9:30 am at BLAKE-DOYLE Funeral Home, 226 W Collings Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning 10:30 am at St. John’s Catholic Church, St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 809 Park Ave., Collingswood.
