Jose A. Guzman

Jose Guzman passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on July 15, 2023. He was born on July 25, 1959 in Bronx, New York and was 63 years old.

Jose is predeceased by his mom, Maria Figueroa, his dad, Antonio Guzman, and his brother, Juan Mercado. He is survived by his sisters, Carmen Guzman, Esther Mercado-Pitts, Maria Mercado (Martin Diaz). He is also survived by two daughters, his son, Shaquille Broadway and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jose is a veteran of the United States Army, a handyman, and a former custodian at Virtua Voorhees Hospital. He loved his family and would do anything for them. He always wanted to make sure everyone “was good”, as he would say. In his spare time, he loved to play dominoes and go to Atlantic City to have fun. Joey definitely loved cheering for his Yankees!

Funeral services will take place at Blake-Doyle Funeral home in Collingswood, NJ on Saturday, July 22, 2023, with a Funeral Viewing from 3PM - 4PM, Funeral Ceremony from 4PM - 5PM. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home as well.
