

Josephine was born February 15, 1927 in Delaware City, Delaware. She lived a long and full life.
In childhood, she experienced the Great Depression, as a young teen went through World War II on homefront. She served over 20 years as a Catholic nun, then moved on to become a dedicated wife and mother of two children while compiling 30 plus years of service as a teacher in public and Catholic schools.
Josephine earned a BA degree from Villanova University and a MA degree from St. Bonaventure University. She enjoyed singing, fellowship with others, crossword puzzles, Klondike Bars, and reading P.D. James. Her favorite author was Harper Lee.
Josephine is survived by her son, John B. Ivers (Rachel Ivers), her granddaughter, Avery Ivers, and her grandson, Dominyk Ivers. She was preceded in death by her husband John J. Ivers and son Francis P. Ivers. Josephine made significant impacts to so many during her 99 year mission field journey. She was a dear and valuable aunt and a long time friend to many. She was and is a Child of God, now experiencing eternity.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 10 am to 11 am at St Vincent Pallotti Church, 901 Hopkins Road, Haddon Township, NJ 08033. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am.
