Richard Dan Gilbrook

June 16, 1986June 5, 2019

Richard D. Gilbrook passed away June 5, 2019 age 32 years.

He is survived by loving parents Marjorie and Richard, fiancé Brittney, daughter Lillie, siblings: Shannon, Amanda (John) and Daniel (Janine). He also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Aeriana, Amier, John, Alyany, Erin and Grace as well as his grandmother Virginia, his grandfather Richard his adoring Aunts and Uncles: Edward, Michael, Elizabeth, Susan (Anthony), Donna (Mike), Tara (Michael), Catherine and numerous loving cousins.

Richard was known as a compassionate, kind, hardworking man who loved spending time with his family. The loves of his life were his daughter Lillie and beloved fiancé Brittney; he always made sure to express so and spend quality time with them. He was a proud Mason and relished working as such. In his free time, Richard liked to watch car shows on television, spend time with his brother working on cars, and loved to spend quality time with his daughter outdoors: playing at parks, riding her bicycle or visiting the beach together. Richard was known to hardly sit still, and was full of energy and vigor, a quality those near him dearly appreciated. He was a natural student with an insatiable need for learning, he loved to learn about history through the History Channel, learning how things worked, or watching crime shows. His loving, warm and tenderhearted nature will be missed by his large loving family, many friends and people who he’s impacted with his kind, helpful, vivacious nature.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation Wednesday June 12, 2019 at Church of the Holy Spirit, 20 East Browning Rd, Bellmawr, NJ at 12:30-1:30PM. Brittney, We can Only Imagine The Pain your Going through, and Lillie's as Well when she Finally Realizes what Happened...We Pray for you Both. Rich had a Good Heart, and Was Always there to Jump in and Lend a Helping Hand and Expect Nothing in return...There were so Many things he could do and Do Well...To see Him and Lillie and How he Amused her and Made her Laugh was So Very Special...He as Funny...We will Always Remember his Giant Fur Coat, Psychodelic Mohawk Hair-Cut Hat, and the Blinking X-mas Lights he Wore....We are so Very Sorry and Send Our Deepest Condolences...We are Praying for Him....We Love you Rich! Gone but Never Forgotten...May you Rest In Peace Our Friend...Donna and Jim

My baby brother. We grew up through the craziest, but most most solid childhood/friendship together. I don’t have one favorite memory of you, or us. My favorite thing to remember is how everyone had to just throw their arms up and let you be. You always had more presence and energy than the earth’s sun. No matter where you were and who you were with, it was the Richie show. The world was your audience and there was never an entertainer with greater stage presence than you. We were all captivated, drawn in and controlled to hang on. To wait for the next chapter. You are finally in paradise and here we are, hanging on and waiting for the day we get to sit in your audience again.

...the first time I layed eyes on Richard he was a year and a half old...it was February of 1988... In the 31 years that have passed since then I have been elsewhere most of the time....many of the youngest members of my family I have never meant but I did have the opportunity to spend a bit of time with Richard....my fondest memory of Richard is from a stay at his mother's home in 1994...the wild bunch as I like to think of them collectively..... Richard and his brother Danny we're not yet 10 years old at the time but resembled minature body builders (genetics or steroids/don't know)and they would box in the evenings in the living room...gloves of course...it was better than pay per view...one evening a knock came at the door and both boys ran to answer it... Danny mounted the backside of the door and as Richard flung it open rode it into the wall.... Richard greeted the man at the door with a vicious kick between the legs doubling him over, then slammed the door on his head knocking him to the deck... not being a door answering fan myself I immediately appreciated his technique...that boy knew how to answer a door....whether burning down a Forrest to toast marshmallows , flipping off fellow motorists in choreographed unison as he and "the clan" traversed the hi-ways and biways of new Jersey Richard was always an indispensable member of a truly disturbing organization ...our family....and we are considerably diminished with his passing...via con dios my friend... uncle nod...

My Favorite Memory would Have to Be I cant chose one. As I looked Back on our friendship there's so many memories its the Little things . Richie had keys to my house and every morning he would drive over 5am wake me up some stupid way and as I walk down stairs to get coffee like a zombie theres Richie running his mouth a million miles a sec talking about what we are doing for the day . I miss that !!! Then there's How he was there no matter What for me , my kids and my wife. I remember Laura pulling up from food shopping Richie already emptied then car of all Bags and wouldn't let my wife carrying a single bag before I could round up my kids to get bags stupid I know but like I said its the lil things. Richie had a heart when Richie Loved man He loved, And boy o boy he loved his Brittney. I remember he kept asking me for advice on how to get married and how he kept saying he wanted kids . Course I kept saying Slow the F down brotha Trust me live a little first then settle down. But there was no slowing him down. I figured it out My Favorite Memories of Me and Richie wasn't working together, wasn't being best friends, it was our love for trucks. We would work on My truck or his truck for Hrs a day Bullshitting the whole time If not arguing but we would go to easy 2 am out there wrenching away, and we always forgot to do something so would have to rip apart and redo Lmfao. Anyway My only Memory that matters is How much of a Great guy he was and a Great Friend.
