Although I never met "Rick", his father was the best man at my wedding in 1992....I was in the U.S. Navy and was able to get Rich to come to CT with his parents for my wedding. I've lost touch with the Phillips family over the years, but they have never been far from my thoughts. God Rest your soul Rick, you were taken way too soon.

Richard and Carol, Christy and Brett,
Thank you for the wonderful gift that Ricky was to our family. He will forever be remembered by me as "our baby" because of how generously you shared him with his aunts. We all got to practice being mommies with him before we had his cousins. He grew into a thoughtful, bright, and handsome young man and we loved him very much. Thank you for helping us all through this difficult time as a family despite your own indescribable grief. We love you very much and are here for you all.
Love, Maureen, Hans, Jake, Madison, and Reagan

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Thinking of all of you and sending love and healing thoughts your way. We love you so very much.

Words cannot express the sadness in our hearts for our cousins right now. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Our deepest sympathy and love,
Donna, Dom, Nick and Meredith Ciufo

My memories are of a Beautiful, Polite, Well Manered Little Boy dancing all night at his Aunt Colleen's Wedding, sleeping in a hammock with his Grand Pa and mowing the back yard with his toy mower singing "Zip A Dee Do Dah". He grew up to be a Beautiful, Polite, Well Manered Young Man. Always a Smile, a kind Word and the ability to make the world a brighter place. These are the memories that I keep in my Heart and always will.

While I did not know Rick, I am a student at Rutgers University in Camden, which is how I heard of this tragic loss. I recently lost my younger brother (age 19) this past summer in a car accident. I know that there are probably no words I can say to give comfort, other than my thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family.

Rich, There are no words to fully describe how sad Maddie and I are for you and your family at this time. I sit sobbing as I write this. We loved Ricky - I as a co-worker, and Maddie as a classmate - both of us as PVI alum. We pray that the great patience and strength that God has blessed you with and you exhibit every day aids you now when you need it most. There are no sufficient words. There are no sufficient explanations. There is only our faith in God's plan for a better life for Ricky. John Donne wrote, "No man is an island, complete unto himself." Use this to know that all your friends, family, and co-workers are here for you, and to highlight the many lives Ricky, you, and your family have so positively touched.

With great sorrow and sympathy,

Maureen and Maddie Reiss
