Beloved wife of the late John T. Hanson Jr. She is survived by her sons: Mark (Joan), John (Kelly), Robert (Elizabeth), Brian and Eric; many grandchildren and was looking forward to her first great grandchild. She also leaves behind her sister Joan Miegel, nieces and nephews. Roberta was a pillar of strength for the Hanson family. She was fiercely independent and the strongest, most determined person we have ever known. Ro was happy, optimistic and believed she could solve almost every problem with hard work, and for the rest of them she relied on her faith in God. She was kind, hilarious and welcomed friends and family into her home.
Roberta raised five sons and was actively involved in raising her grandchildren. She worked as a Bell Telephone operator in the 1950’s and was an integral part of the businesses she and her husband owned. She ran the kitchen and did the books and banking when they owned Red Mill in Gloucester and was the office manager for their real estate appraisal business. Ro was fearless when it came to supporting and defending her family. We will miss her so much and are grateful for the outpouring of love for our Mother and support for us we have been receiving.
Contributions can be made in her memory to the Camden County College Foundation, PO Box 200, College Drive, Blackwood, NJ 08012. Arrangements have been entrusted to BLAKE-DOYLE Funeral Home, Collingswood, NJ. Services private due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Please leave your remembrances of Ro on Blake-Doyle.com
